| Short description | The rarest Yardbirds album. Live Yardbirds: Featuring Jimmy Page is a live album released in 1971 of their live performance at the Anderson Theatre in New York City on 30 March 1968 (including the currently unreleased song "Knowing That I'm Losing You", an early version of a track that would be re-recorded by Led Zeppelin as "Tangerine"). All were shelved at the band's request, although once Led Zeppelin were successful Epic tried to release the concert material. The album was quickly withdrawn after Page's lawyers filed an injunction. Although live, Epic had overdubbed crowd noises from bullfights onto the original tracks, against the band's wishes. It quickly went out of print, though it was reissued by Columbia Special Products in 1976 (this quickly went out of print as well). Counterfeit copies in black & white covers do exist, which are sometimes labeled as being promotional copies. The cover art was designed by James Grashow, the same woodcut artist who created the artwork for Jethro Tull's album Stand Up. Jimmy Page has also obtained legal injunctions against companies who have planned to reissue the albumt on compact disc.
