| Short description | First Pressing, with labels which оmit the EMI boxed logo, which were added to later issues. This is a rare version of this record that was unique to the German market and pressing. Firstly, the cover is very different to the UK version in-as-much the front is a totally different colour. Also the record is stored from within the inside of the gatefold via the centre hinge fold area – similar to ‘The Beatles for Sale’, This German ‘Hor Zu’ pressing is of classical quality and, in accordance with experts, with the best sound example ever with details and dynamics are lacking on the UK copies. German classical pressings have been well-documented and known for many years and this is athe Album for the audiophiles and Deep Purple connoisseurs. This ‘alternative’ German pressing with its unique and very different looking cover is almost never offered for sale. A brief Info on music: arguably Deep Purple’s finest album, the one that really won them ‘mass’ appeal after a slow start with the band performing cover versions and really going nowhere. With a new vocalist – Ian Gillan – and now performing their own material, a new ‘supergroup’ was born. An album of hard-edged riffs and vocals of the highest calibre. “In Rock” fast became one of the heavy rock classics of all time and contains several of the band’s finest anthems including the awesome ‘Child in Time’ and ‘Speed King’. Selling well, and peaking at 4 in the UK , 1 in Germany in Australia (but only a lowly 143 in the US) this album has to be one of the very best issued on this famous progressive label.
